It essentially leaves the companion half way between still following you, and NOT still following you. However, there's a bug in the game where every now and then, that script doesn't do the last part of it's job, and doesn't delete. The script is SUPPOSED to do it's job, and then DELETE ITSELF. There is a script that is triggered, when you go to dismiss a companion. Later on, I did find out what's causing the issue. However since I have to play on a ps4, I thought that my options were pretty bad, and I ended up just starting up a new character. ![]() Does anyone know of any other methods I didn't try so far? Could it be related to the Heather mod? Recycle, kill, reset, resetai console commands (nothing worked) setconsolescopequest followers -> emptyrefalias companion -> setplayerteammate 0 (didn't work)ĥ. Dismissing by recruiting a different companion (somewhat two companions after that)Ĥ. cf "tcompanion" false false (didn't work)ģ. Looking for any followersscript.pex files to delete (didn't have any)Ģ. So far I tried the following solutions found on this forum:ġ. The only thing closest to a multiple follower mod I use is probably Heather Casdin (you can have her independently to your normal followers, if I'm not mistaken). I don't use any multiple follower mods or the 'Welcome to Goodneighbor' one, which I read is notorious for messing with companions. I'm pretty sure the issue appeared after that. However, the second time it happened, I noticed it was during the Silver Shroud quest - at some point I had to dismiss my companion so that I could recruit Hancock to get past the bug related to having completed the ' Big Dig' earlier. Second time I noticed it occured again too late and all previous saves I could go back to were already affected. First time I detected the bug early and reverted to an earlier save, which solved the issue. I had 2 instances of this bug occuring for different companions. If I try to recruit a new follower when the old one is in the 'running' state, I will have two followers - the new one will be active as normal and the other will keep running after me (never tried recruiting anyone new after this step to check if I can have 3, though) When following while dismissed, they will never engage in combat with anything even if being attacked themselves I can easily recruit them back at any time and they will behave like a normal follower again After dismissal the companion will always run after me, never walk. ![]() Mods can move/add as they see fit.I have a little issue with companions, namely that I cannot dismiss them for some reason - the dialogue is there, I can choose which settlement to send them to, but once confimed, they will make few steps as if they were about to leave as expected, but then turn around and come running back to me. *Note: I'm posting this both here and in its own thread, as it sounds somewhat similar to the issue of the OP, but is slightly different in that it involves multiple followers (not just Lydia). I've installed several Follower-themed mods, as this was before UFO came out, and can provide a list of all mods I had installed if necessary, and all pex. My biggest problem with this is that I tend to have a follower with me most of the time in-game, so it's very possible that I would not have noticed this glitch (or, considering how buggy Skyrim is in-general, have written it off as a one-time thing) until far-after the cause. switching followers via enabling a multi-follower mod, which results in the previous "won't leave you alone" follower being properly dismissed when the new follower is taken on, but the new follower will then have all the problems of the old follower =\ (I have tried Lydia, Farkas and Marcurio) console commands (kill, resetai, recycleai, setfollowercount to 0, etc, etc, etc) Problem: Followers will not Wait or Dismiss properly (say the line but just keep following), and telling them to Wait Here via "I need you to do something" results in them being frozen in a permanent Wait mode. I'm having similar issues with followers, though mine seems to be a global (i.e. ![]()
